build the UTM you'll actually remember to use.

what this tool does

A form-based UTM-parameter builder, preloaded with sensible presets for the platforms creators actually post on (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Threads, LinkedIn, Pinterest), and defaulting to the naming conventions linkboo's attribution layer recommends. Fill in the form. Get back a copyable URL with utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, and utm_term set the way they should be set. Save the URL, or push it straight into your linkboo bio link.

why this matters

Most UTM builders give you five empty text fields and call it done. You end up with utm_source=tiktok_bio_link_2024_v2_final_final_fr because no two campaigns share a convention and you're naming things at 11pm. Six months later your analytics is a soup of typos and synonyms — tiktok, Tiktok, tik-tok, tt, TikTok — and the attribution data you painstakingly captured is useless for cohort analysis because nothing groups.

The builder solves this by making the conventions the default. Source is a dropdown of platforms, not a free-text field. Medium has standard values (social, bio, story, reel, live, email, paid). Campaign is free-text but the form remembers your previous campaigns and offers autocomplete. Content lets you tag the post or creative variant. The output URL is canonical and matches what every other creator using linkboo's recommended conventions is producing — so cross-creator and cross-campaign comparisons actually work.

If you've been told to "use UTMs" without anyone explaining what a utm_medium actually does to your funnel reporting, the form labels include one-line explanations. You shouldn't need to read a spec to tag a link.

what you'll see

  1. Destination URL field. Paste the URL you want to tag.
  2. Platform preset dropdown. Select where this link will live: TikTok bio / TikTok video caption / Instagram bio / Instagram story / Instagram reel caption / YouTube description / X post / Threads / LinkedIn / Pinterest / Email / Other. Selecting a preset fills utm_source and utm_medium for you.
  3. Campaign field. Free-text, with autocomplete from your previous campaign names if you're logged in.
  4. Content field. Optional. Tag the specific creative — post-id-12345, v2-thumbnail, morning-post.
  5. Term field. Optional, mainly for paid contexts where the keyword that drove the click matters.
  6. Live preview. As you type, the URL builds underneath, fully encoded, ready to copy.
  7. Copy button. Single click. Toast confirms Copied.
  8. Push to linkboo button (logged-in users). One click pushes the tagged URL into your linkboo dashboard as a new destination, ready to drop into your bio link page. Skips the copy-paste step entirely.
  9. History panel (logged-in users). The last 20 UTM URLs you built, with a re-copy button next to each. Because you will need to re-copy them; you always do.

who this is for

Creators running a bio link with more than one destination who need to know which destinations are actually converting.

Agencies managing campaigns across multiple creators and platforms who need clean, comparable attribution data.

Anyone who has ever opened Google Analytics, seen (direct) / (none) against 80% of their traffic, and known intuitively that the traffic wasn't actually direct.

currently in development

We're building this. The form is straightforward; the integration with the linkboo dashboard is the work — pushing a built UTM URL into your destination list, attaching it to a short link, and routing the click data into the right campaign bucket.

in the meantime

If you need to build a UTM today:

  • Google's Campaign URL Builder is the canonical free tool. Open Google's URL builder{rel="nofollow"} — no presets, no conventions, but it produces a clean URL.
  • Just type the parameters by hand. The format is ?utm_source=tiktok&utm_medium=bio&utm_campaign=spring-launch. Append to your URL. It works.
  • Pick a convention now and write it down somewhere. Whatever this tool would eventually default to, the highest-leverage thing you can do today is commit to one source-naming format (tiktok not Tiktok not tt) and use it forever.
